An integrated introduction to the analysis of individual firms
and markets, as well as aggregate economic variables. These include
inflation, unemployment and economic growth, with a focus on the
state's role in attempts to regulate the economy outside the market. |

ECN325 - The Evolution of Economic Thought |

A survey of thought from religion, science and philosophy during
the past 2,500 years and its impact on contemporary economic theory
and practice. Main focus will be on thought since the Enlightenment
with a comparison of the reductionist cast of Western theory and
Japan's holism. |

MTH161 - Mathematical Methods for Business & Social
Sciences |

Introduction to calculus in a business and social sciences
setting. Topics may include linear algebra, linear programming and
calculus. Prerequisite: MTH121 or equivalent. |

Introduction to descriptive statistics, measures of central
tendency and variability, probability, sampling distributions,
estimation and hypothesis testing. Prerequisite: MTH 101 or
